Steps to ownership

Purchasing a holiday home for the first time can seem like a daunting prospect. From the initial outlay and on-going costs to choosing the right location and pitch – there are so many things to consider.

To help you on your journey, we’ve put together a handy checklist to guide you through this process to becoming a holiday home owner.

It’s all about the location…

Choosing the right location for your holiday home is key. You need to ask yourself: what is it I’m looking for? Do you prefer the coast or countryside? Peace and quiet or events, activities and a buzzing nightlife?

If your idea of heaven is owning space where you and your family can come to relax and get away from it all, then our holiday park is certainly for you.

  • Relaxing holidays in a peaceful environment.
  • Exploring the magical Cotswolds region, as well as Worcestershire.
  • Those who love a riverside location, right on the banks of the Avon.

What about the cost?

When it comes buying a holiday home, making the right financial decision for you and your family is very important. We have a broad range of  homes for sale starting from £12,000 and we can arrange finance packages on new homes to help you spread the cost.

We also offer a part exchange service. So, if you currently own a static caravan on another site, or have other assets, we may be able to take these in part exchange against the purchase of a holiday home at our site.

Just like your own home, there are running costs to consider as well. There will be utility charges for energy, water and waste to add on, plus ground fees and your own expense of insurance. You need to make sure you fully understand the commitment before you purchase any holiday home. At Rivermead, our team will go through these costs with you, step by step, so that every penny of cost is explained to you before you purchase a holiday home at our site.

Choosing the right holiday home

Holiday homes come in a variety of shapes, sizes and finishes. Finding the right one for you maybe not be as straightforward as you think. You need to decide how big it needs to be; will it be just for you or your children and grandchildren aswell? Will 2 bedrooms be enough or do you need a third? How many bathrooms should you go for – would you like an en-suite in the master? All these are tough questions you need to decide before committing to purchase a holiday home.

At Rivermead we have a wide range of luxury holiday homes for sale and our team of experts can help you decide what’s right for you in terms of style, budget and space.

Choose the right pitch on park

It may sound like an insignificant part of the process but choosing the right pitch for your holiday home will be crucial to your enjoyment. Are you looking for a river view? Would you like to be closer to the amenities? Would you prefer a more secluded spot in the park?

At Rivermead, we’ll work with you to help you find the most appropriate location on our park for your holiday home.
